Our Hemp Doctor story began 13 years ago in early September of 2009.

In the fall of 2014, our oldest daughter, Courtney, was critically injured in an automobile accident at the age of 18.

After spending nearly a week in the hospital after the accident, she had a spinal surgery to fuse together two of her vertebrae.

This wound required additional, specialized at-home care for months after it was initially treated. Unfortunately, the back pain and chronic health issues she suffered would plague her for years to come.

Finally, after almost a decade of suffering from the side effects of her injuries, she needed reconstructive surgery to alleviate one particularly challenging daily issue.

During the spring of 2018, she underwent surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, with the expectation that she would resume a normal, healthy life afterward.

Daily physical issues

When we saw the results of the surgery, we knew they were right – our daughter’s body was healing, and her old physical problems were becoming less noticeable.

Her years of physical suffering have taken a huge toll on her physically, mentally, and emotionally.

After the surgery she started to suffer from a wide range of debilitating mental and emotional issues and needs a lot of help in order to start to recover.

She suffered from anxiety, fatigue, and a lack of energy which affected her ability to heal, get good sleep, and just function in daily life.

Parents are always eager to help, but sometimes it can be difficult to watch your child struggle with something.

We are so glad that you found a treatment that works! Our daughter’s pain is gone, and we’re thrilled to have her back in such good health!

Later that day, when Courtney came home from the hospital, she found a friend of hers from work who had a bottle of hemp oil sitting on the counter.

The friend explained that it was useful for alleviating physical discomforts of many kinds as well as symptoms associated with mood disorders.

Knowing very little about CBD, she trusted her friend’s advice, taking one dose and, to her surprise, noticing relief within the hour. Several days later, Courtney shared her experience with us and brought us the oil to try for ourselves.

After months of discussions with my family, I realized it was the right time to share my story.

Everybody knew what had happened to our daughter and that she had to undergo surgery, etc., but did they really know everything?

I’m sure the other candidates for governor knew that, but did they know how CBD helped Courtney recover from her accident and surgeries?

We had an idea about what kind of community we wanted to create, but not exactly what name or structure we wanted it to have.
